Pre-course study To help you come to
terms with GMDSS, YachtCom has produced a PC Simulator program that is based on
the DSC system outlined in the RYA publication VHF Radio (inc GMDSS) VHF
G22/02.
Equipment used during the course includes :-
- Icom IC-M421 VHF DSC marine transceiver.
- Icom IC-M601 VHF DSC marine transceiver.
- ICS NAV 4 plus navtex receiver
- Nasa SX35 DSC transceiver.
- Nasa Target Navtex receiver.
- Pains Wessex EPIRB and SART
NOTE:
- At YachtCom we will train you on real GMDSS
equipment, with a ratio better then 1 real VHF DSC radio per 2 students.
The RYA requirements is 2 radios per 12 student (ratio 1 radio per 6
students).
