Duration 2 day: - Two days is required,
as students need to get practical experience of using the equipment and in
preparation for the exam which includes a group radio telephone exercise. Day 2
is devoted to the examination, which is overseen by an external examiner and
takes between 4 to 5 hours depending on the number of candidates sitting the
exam. MCA rules do not allow for remote examination.
On-line training Our on-line training
package has been developed to cover all aspects of the GMDSS Long Range
Certificate. The on-line training is broken down into easy to follow lessons
which include multiple choice questions covering each subject.
Internet Access Broadband Internet
access is required to access the on-line training and it is recommended that 15
to 20 hours of studying before attending the course at YachtCom.
Course location: The course takes
place in our permanently equipped training studio at Lowford, Bursledon,
Hampshire, close to the River Hamble.
